Lalu Prasad Yadav Expels Son Tej Pratap From RJD, Family Over ‘Irresponsible Behaviour’: 'He Will Have No...'
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday expelled his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party for six years, citing his "irresponsible conduct" and departure from the family's values and acceptable public behaviour.
The move followed a controversial post that surfaced on Facebook a day earlier, in which Tej Pratap allegedly spoke about his long-term relationship with Anushka Yadav, claiming they had been in love and involved for the past 12 years.

However, he later asserted that his account had been hacked and that the images had been doctored to malign him and his family.
In a statement issued on social media, the former Bihar Chief Minister said that neglecting moral values in personal life undermines the party's broader fight for social justice, and that Tej Pratap's behaviour did not align with the family's principles or traditions.
"Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The activities, public conduct and irresponsible behaviour of the eldest son are not in accordance with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I am removing him from the party and family. From now on, he will not have any kind of role in the party, and the family. He is expelled from the party for 6 years," Lalu Yadav declared in a Hindi post.
He continued: "He is capable of differentiating between the good and bad and the merits and demerits of his personal life. Whoever will have relations with him should take a decision as per their own discretion. I have always been an advocate of public shame in public life. The obedient members of the family have adopted and followed this idea in public life. Thank you."
Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu's younger son and Tej Pratap's brother, commented on the matter while addressing the press in Patna on Sunday. He emphasised the importance of maintaining boundaries between public and private life.
"As far as I am concerned, I neither like nor tolerate all this. Personal life should be separate. He is the elder one, and has the right to take his own decisions. But Lalu ji has also made his thoughts clear through a tweet. He did what he thought was right. I came to know about this only through the media," Tejashwi said.
The viral Facebook post drew widespread attention online, with many users commending Tej Pratap's boldness, while others speculated whether this revelation might soon lead to marriage.
Shortly after the post began trending, Tej Pratap issued a clarification in Hindi:
"My social media platforms have been hacked and my photos are being edited inappropriately to harass and defame me and my family. I appeal to my well-wishers and followers to stay alert and not pay attention to any rumours."
In the lead-up to the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, Tej Pratap Yadav is preparing to contest from the Mahua seat in Vaishali district, shifting from the Hasanpur seat in Samastipur. It is worth noting that he previously won the Mahua constituency in 2015 and now plans a strategic return to that seat.
