Lal Bahadur Shastri's Grandson Quits Congress, Joins BJP
In a blow to the Congress, Vibhakar Shastri, grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, quit the Congress on Wednesday as he tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the party to Mallikarjun Kharge.
He joined the BJP in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak.

Vibhakar Shastri says, "I think under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, I will be able to serve the country by further strengthening Lal Bahadur Shastri's vision of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan'."
The development comes days after former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and Baba Siddique quit the grand old party.
