Lady with alleged ISIS link detained in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sept 11: A lady suspected to be linked to the ISIS has been detained from the Rajiv Gandhi International airport in Hyderabad. The Cyberabad police acting on a tip off detained the lady identified as Afsha Jabeen alias Nicole Joseph.

The police are currently questioning her after they had found material suggesting that she was allegedly linked to the ISIS.

The police are also ascertaining to see in what way she is connected to a person by the name Mohideen Salman who was arrested on a similar charge in the month of January 2015.

Who is Nicky Joseph?

The police claim that she is known to Salman who was arrested in January 2015. He was a Hyderabad based engineer who had studied in the United States of America.

The police had said at the time of his arrest that he was trying to leave Hyderabad and join the ISIS in Syria.

During the course of the probe the name of Nicky had cropped up too. The police say that Nicky was deported from Dubai on Thursday night.

On her arrival to Hyderabad, she was detained by the police. When Salman was arrested it was alleged by the police that he wanted to marry Nicky. He had planned on meeting with her in Dubai first before leaving for Syria.
