- A total of 851 candidates threw their hats into the electoral ring in Uttar Pradesh, comprising 771 men and 80 women, each vying fervently for victory.
- Among the contenders are significant political figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani, and opposition stalwarts Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, whose electoral fortunes hang in the balance.
