New information has surfaced regarding the tragic Kurnool bus fire accident that claimed 19 lives, focusing on the bus driver's account and the discovery of critical evidence linked to the deceased biker.

Driver Claims Black Bike Was Unseen

Bus driver Lakshmaiah of the Vemuri Kaveri Bus reportedly told police that he could not clearly see the black motorcycle lying on the road due to low visibility in the rain. He explained that stopping suddenly could have triggered a more severe accident, so he drove over the bike instead.

Preliminary reports, however, suggest that three other buses traveling moments earlier successfully spotted the motorcycle and avoided it safely. If confirmed, this raises serious questions about gross negligence on the part of Lakshmaiah.

Driver Fled the Scene After Fire

Sources reveal that after the bus ran over the motorcycle, igniting fuel and triggering the devastating fire, the driver fled the scene in panic. Investigators believe that had Lakshmaiah immediately warned passengers, many lives could have been saved.

Biker's Friend Traced via Mobile Phone

Police have traced Erriswamy, a friend of the deceased biker Shivashankar, through the victim's cell phone.

It is suspected that after the accident, Erriswamy moved Shivashankar's body and took his cell phone from the crash site. When the phone went missing, police tracked the number and located Erriswamy in Rampalli, taking him into custody for questioning. His testimony is considered crucial to reconstructing the sequence of events leading to the disaster.

Authorities are now probing why the earlier buses, which successfully avoided the fallen motorcycle, did not attempt to remove it from the road-an action that could have prevented the catastrophic loss of 19 lives.
