KSRTC bus goes up in smoke at Chennai
Passengers aboard a KSRTC bus had a miraculous escape on Saturday morning. The Chennai bound bus caught fire at the Poonthamalli high road, near Poonthamalli, Chennai.

The bus was heading to the Koyambedu bus terminus, Chennai. 14 kilometres before reaching the station, the bus caught fire.
In all there were 44 passengers inside the bus when the incident occurred. The alert driver immediately parked the bus on the side of the road and ordered all the passengers to step out.

Four fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire was doused in an hour of the incident being reported. All the passengers escaped unhurt in the incident. However the luggage was charred. This is the second such incident to be reported on the same road in the past six months.
