So, who is Krishan Lal Panwar?
Krishan Lal Panwar contested the assembly elections from Israna while serving as a Rajya Sabha MP, showcasing his dual commitment to both state and national politics. Notably, he ranks second in seniority within the BJP, following Anil Vij, who has served as an MLA seven times. Representing the Dalit community, Panwar has a robust connection to Dalit voters, making him a significant player in Haryana's political dynamics. He is also known for his close ties to former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Born on January 1, 1958, in Panipat, Krishan Lal Panwar began his political journey in 1991 by joining the Lok Dal. He first became an MLA from the Assandh constituency and was re-elected twice from the same seat. In 2009, he contested the elections from Israna on an INLD ticket and later on a BJP ticket in 2014, emerging victorious and serving as the Minister for Transport and Jails. His previous tenure in the Khattar government saw him manage critical ministries, including Transport, Housing, and Jails.
