Kerala: Shootout between CISF and AAI officials kills 1
Kozhikode, June 11: In an unprecedented clash between CISF jawans and the employees of the Airport Authority of India, a CISF jawan lost his life at the Kozhikode international airport yesterday night. Three others have been injured and are being treated at the Kozhikode Medical college. Meanwhile, the deceased has been identified as Jaypal Yadav.
According to inside sources, the spat began when Yadav stopped fire personnel at the VIP gate and insisted on a body search. They in turn resisted and forced their way in. The fire personnel were stopped again by Yadav and in the scuffle, the gun with Yadav went off, injuring him fatally.
After this, more CISF jawans joined in and thrashed all AAI personnel, including the ones who arrived later. They also pushed the AAI officials out of the airport, crippling the functioning of the airport.
