Kota Building Collapse: Over 15 Feared Trapped After A Building Falls, Rescue Operations Underwarway

A late-night building collapse in Rajasthan's Kota city has left more than 15 people feared trapped under debris, triggering a massive rescue operation and panic in the surrounding area.

The incident took place on Saturday night in the Indira Vihar locality, falling under the jurisdiction of Jawahar Nagar police station.

Emergency teams rushed to the site soon after the collapse was reported, as authorities worked through the night to locate and rescue those believed to be buried beneath the rubble. Senior district officials also reached the spot to monitor the ongoing operation.

Chaos at Site as Building Comes Crashing Down

According to initial reports, the building collapsed suddenly, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as residents screamed and ran for safety following the incident.

Police, fire department personnel and medical teams were immediately deployed to the site. Several ambulances and fire engines were pressed into service to assist in rescue efforts and provide emergency medical care.

Sources said at least four to five people have been pulled out alive from the debris so far. However, many others are still believed to be trapped under the collapsed structure, prompting an urgent and carefully coordinated rescue mission.

Rescue Efforts Intensify, Cause Still Unclear

Rescue teams are using heavy machinery and specialised equipment to clear debris and search for survivors. Officials said the operation is being carried out with caution to prevent further structural collapse and ensure the safety of both victims and rescuers.

"We are doing everything possible to rescue those trapped. Our teams are working continuously with the necessary equipment to remove debris and reach survivors," a senior police official said.

The district collector and superintendent of police have reached the site and are supervising the rescue operations. Authorities have cordoned off the area to facilitate emergency work and prevent crowding.
