Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder: Sanjay Roy Molested Another Woman Before Crime, Asked Girlfriend For Nudes

Sanjay Roy, accused of raping and murdering a 31-year-old doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, reportedly confessed to the crime during a polygraph test conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday.

According to the test, Roy admitted to visiting a red-light area with a friend just hours before the crime, though he claimed he did not engage in sexual activity.

He also confessed to molesting another woman on the street, as reported by India Today. Additionally, Roy reportedly video-called his girlfriend and asked for explicit photos.

On the night of the crime, Roy had drinks with his friend before heading to a red-light area. They later went to another area in South Kolkata, where they allegedly molested a girl on their way.

Afterward, they returned to the hospital, and at around 4:03 am, Roy went to the corridor near the seminar hall. There, he allegedly raped and murdered the doctor before going to the house of his friend, Anupam Dutta, a police officer.

Meanwhile, a report from The Times of India reported that Roy gave misleading responses during the polygraph test, which were flagged by the machine.

The CBI's psychoanalytic profile of Roy indicated that he was severely addicted to pornography, with several pornographic clips found on his phone.

The victim was found with 25 external and internal injuries on her body and was smothered to death.

The CBI is also investigating the role of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the medical college, who was subjected to a lie-detector test.

Ghosh is accused of attempting to pass off the rape and murder as a suicide and is also under scrutiny for alleged financial irregularities.

The Supreme Court recently questioned the Kolkata Police regarding the 12-hour delay in registering the FIR and raised concerns about Dr Ghosh's actions.
