Kokrajhar attack: NIA files supplementary chargesheet

The National Investigation Agency has filed its second supplementary chargesheet in connection with the horrific Kokrajhar attack in Assam.

The chargesheet was filed against two members of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit). The NIA names Sudem Narzary and Upen Basumatary in the supplementary chargesheet.

On December 23 2014, terrorists of the NFBD(S) fired upon the innocent Adivasi community in Kokrajhar. In the incident 12 persons including women and children were killed. 3 others were injured in the incident which was reported under the Kokrajhar police station, BTAD, Assam.

The terrorists indulged in indiscriminate firing while using sophisticated weapons, the NIA stated. The agency also said that the evidence was collected on the basis of field investigation as well as technical and forensic evidence against the accused persons. Investigations are ongoing as many hardcore terrorists of the outfit are still absconding the NIA also said.
