Born on January 1, 1971, in Mumbai, Jyotiraditya Scindia is the son of Madhavrao Scindia and Madhavi Raje Scindia. Hailing from the distinguished Scindia lineage, he inherited a legacy of political astuteness and public service. His father, Madhavrao Scindia, was a prominent politician and minister in the government of Rajiv Gandhi, while his mother, Madhavi Raje, belongs to the royal family of Nepal. Jyotiraditya Scindia is married to Priyadarshini Raje Scindia.

Political Career:

Jyotiraditya Scindia commenced his political journey as a member of the Indian National Congress. Following the tragic demise of his father in an accident, he stepped into the realm of politics and quickly ascended the ranks. Notably, he served as the 'Minister of State with independent charge' of Power in Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's cabinet until 2014. Representing the Guna constituency of Madhya Pradesh in the Lok Sabha, Scindia demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and a deep commitment to his constituents.

In 2019, however, Jyotiraditya Scindia faced a setback as he lost the parliamentary election from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, as a Congress candidate. This defeat marked a turning point in his political trajectory.

Transition to BJP:

Disillusioned with the Congress party's leadership and direction, Jyotiraditya Scindia made a significant decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. His departure from the Congress fold caused a political upheaval, leading to the downfall of the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh and the resurgence of the BJP. In 2020, Jyotiraditya Scindia was elected to the Rajya Sabha as a BJP member from Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently, in 2021, he was appointed as the Minister of Civil Aviation in the Modi cabinet, further solidifying his position within the party.
