Know why teachers in Telangana are wearing helmets to work

The teachers at a government school in Telangana's Medak district are wearing helmets as a protest against delay in renovation of dilapidated school building.

It is learnt that the teachers have been complaining regarding this and that their repeated attempts to highlight the issue had fallen on deaf ears.

The teachers conducted classes wearing helmets after a roof fell on one of them, resulting in an injury.

There are around 664 students studying in the school and there are not even proper toilets for the children. After receiving the complaint, the district education officer visted the school to investigate the matter
