Kiss of Love: Kerala Police criticized for cracking down on protestors

However, ADGP, South Zone justified that the situation was handled in the best possible way. He further added,"They allowed all protests to take place. We cannot stop the public from coming to Marine Drive.
They were not coming as organised group but in ones and twos in buses, two wheels and cars from various places. The organisers themselves had asked for police protection. The situation would have been worse, if we have not taken them into preventive detention."
Huge crowds gathered at Kochi's Marine Drive in protest against moral policing by right wing groups.
The event was organised after right-wing groups ransacked a restaurant in Kochi alleging that couples were found kissing inside. The protests were opposed by both Hindu and Muslim groups in Kerala.
