Kharge Criticizes Modi for Focusing on Hindu-Muslim Issues to Divide India

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the Prime Minister for his divisive rhetoric, focusing on the Hindu-Muslim narrative, during an INDIA alliance public meeting. Kharge accused the Prime Minister of using language not befitting his position and aiming to divide the country along religious, linguistic, and caste lines. He highlighted the PM's alleged failure to fulfill job creation promises and accused the government of neglecting to fill 30 lakh government job vacancies, a move he believes disproportionately affects SC, ST, and OBC communities.

Kharge Hits Out at Modis Divisive Tactics

Kharge also challenged the Prime Minister's accusations against Rahul Gandhi, questioning why investigations were not launched against prominent industrialists if such allegations were true. He condemned the sale of public sector units and national assets under the current government. The Congress leader reminisced about the contributions of past Congress governments, including land reforms and the nationalization of banks.

At the same event, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and CPI General Secretary D Raja expressed their concerns about the future of India. They emphasized the importance of the 2024 elections for safeguarding the nation's secular fabric. Yechury warned of BJP's intentions to amend the Constitution to establish a Hindu nation if they secure enough parliamentary seats. The leaders rallied support for the INDIA alliance in Andhra Pradesh, where elections are set for May 13, covering both the Assembly and Lok Sabha seats.

The INDIA alliance, comprising Congress, CPI, and CPI(M) among others in Andhra Pradesh, aims to challenge BJP's vision for India in the upcoming elections. Their campaign focuses on preserving secular values and addressing issues like unemployment and privatization that affect a broad spectrum of Indian society.
