BJP Chief Lauds Narendra Modi Government for Promoting Khadi Industry
The khadi industry is achieving new heights under the Narendra Modi government. BJP chief J P Nadda commended these efforts, highlighting that KVIC Khadi products are now among the fastest-moving consumer goods. He also noted that this growth strengthens India economically by providing employment.
The khadi industry in India is reaching new heights each day, thanks to the successful promotional efforts of the Narendra Modi government, according to BJP chief J P Nadda. Speaking on Monday, he highlighted that khadi is not just a fabric but a symbol of our heritage and encouraged people to buy at least one khadi product during festive occasions. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for adopting 'vocal for local' as a way to support indigenous industries.
Khadi: A Catalyst For Economic Growth

Nadda emphasized that after the prime minister’s appeal for promoting khadi, there has been an unprecedented surge in the turnover of khadi products. Today, KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) products have become some of the fastest-moving consumer goods. More than just being an emblem of national pride and heritage, Khadi also plays a significant role in providing employment opportunities thereby strengthening India's economy from within.
Fulfilling Gandhi's Vision Of Self-Reliant India
According to Nadda, Prime Minister Modi is fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi's dream of creating a self-reliant India by promoting Khadi. The village industry associated with Khadi production not only boosts rural economies but also contributes towards building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), which was envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi.
Celebrating Mahatma Gandhi With Khadi
To commemorate Mahatma Gandhi's 154th birth anniversary, BJP chief purchased khadi clothes from a store in Connaught Place along with many other dignitaries who chose to mark this occasion by buying Khadi clothes as well. This gesture underlines their commitment towards supporting Indian weavers while paying tribute to Father of Nation’s vision.
Khadi: Symbol Of National Pride
Nadda further added that Prime Minister Modi has played a crucial role in raising the popularity of Khadi. He pointed out that the khadi industry is setting new benchmarks every day due to the successful promotion efforts by the government. The fabric, which was once considered as an emblem of India's freedom struggle, has now become a symbol of national pride and economic self-reliance.
In conclusion, it is evident that promoting Khadi is not just about preserving our cultural heritage but also about bolstering economic growth and creating employment opportunities. As we look forward to celebrating more festive occasions, let us remember to support our local industries by adopting 'vocal for local'. By doing so, we can contribute towards fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a self-reliant India while simultaneously supporting our economy.
