The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has revealed what police believe was a carefully planned conspiracy involving his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged partner Chetan Chaudhary.

According to investigators and the FIR filed by Ketan's father, the accused allegedly planned every stage of the crime, from creating a digital alibi to choosing an isolated location at Lohagad Fort. Both Siya and Chetan have been arrested in the case, and the investigation is continuing.

FIR Alleges Murder Was Planned

Ketan Agarwal died on June 18 after falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district.
In the FIR lodged by his father, Vishal Devichand Agarwal, it has been alleged that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary intentionally pushed Ketan off the cliff, ruling out the possibility of an accidental fall.

The complaint also mentions that Siya had repeatedly insisted on visiting Lohagad Fort after an earlier planned trip to the location on June 4 did not take place. Investigators are examining whether this insistence was part of the alleged conspiracy.

Police Suspect a Carefully Planned Alibi

According to people familiar with the investigation, Chetan allegedly began preparing his alibi early on the day of the incident.

Investigators claim he switched off his mobile internet around 7 am, preventing his phone from creating a digital location trail.

Around 8 am, he allegedly left his personal mobile phone at his shop and instructed employees to answer incoming calls so it would appear that he had remained at work throughout the day.

Police believe he later used another person's mobile phone while travelling to Lohagad Fort, making it more difficult to trace his movements.

CCTV and Digital Evidence Under Examination

Investigators have alleged that Chetan attempted to hide his identity while following Ketan and Siya at the fort. According to the probe, he was seen wearing a winter hoodie despite the high summer temperature of nearly 33 degrees Celsius, apparently to avoid being recognised.

Police suspect that after the trio reached an isolated point near the Vinchu Kata ridge, Siya allegedly gave a pre-arranged signal by sitting down, after which Chetan allegedly emerged from hiding and pushed Ketan into the gorge.

These claims are part of the ongoing investigation and have not yet been tested in court.

Digital Trail Became Key Evidence

Investigators believe the alleged plan began to unravel later in the evening.
According to police sources, Chetan's mobile internet reportedly remained switched off for nearly 10 hours and 40 minutes before it was turned back on.

The unusually long digital blackout reportedly drew investigators' attention. Police are also examining CCTV footage and statements from callers who allegedly spoke to someone else answering Chetan's phone during that period.

Officials believe this evidence could help reconstruct the sequence of events on the day of the incident.

Events Leading to Ketan's Death

According to the investigation, Ketan left his home on the morning of June 18 and picked up Siya near Kiwale Bridge before travelling to Lohagad Fort.
Police said that around 10:45 am, Siya informed Ketan's mother over the phone that he had accidentally fallen into a gorge.

Local residents and rescue teams later recovered Ketan from the valley and shifted him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Family Raised Doubts Over Accident Theory

Three days after the incident, Ketan's family visited the location where he fell.
According to the FIR, family members believed the terrain made an accidental fall unlikely. Ketan's friends also accompanied them during the inspection.

The family further alleged that Siya frequently referred to Chetan as a close friend and that her phone remained constantly engaged, leading them to suspect the two were in a relationship.

Police are continuing to gather digital, forensic and witness evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding Ketan Agarwal's death.
Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary remain in custody as investigators examine whether the alleged conspiracy was planned over several weeks.

The allegations outlined in the FIR and by investigators are part of the ongoing probe. The accused are yet to stand trial, and the court will determine their guilt based on the evidence presented.
