Keralite shot dead in Kenya

Kerala, July 21: Dileep Mathew, a native of Kannur district in Kerala was shot dead in Kenya on Sunday, July 19.

The deceased is the son of Koluvalli Ilappungal E T Mathew and Lucy.

Dileep was working as the manager in a company that supplied electric posts in the Nakuru sector, 150 kilometres away from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. He was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his company provided residence.

Dileep has fired 10 Kenyan citizens from the company he was working with.

"This might have lead to the killing", observed Kenyan police. Two months back Dileep was attacked on his way to the bank. The attackers snatched away his money and mobile phone on that day.

Dileep is survived by his Salma, who is nurse in Kerala, and son Alan.
