Kerala: Valentine's day moral policing victim found hanging

Aneesh, in his 20s was a victim of moral police on Valentine's day when he was with a woman friend at a beach in Kollam.

Palakkad, Feb 24: A victim of moral policing was found hanging dead from a tree outside his residence in Palakkad of Kerala on Thursday. Aneesh, in his 20s was a victim of moral police on Valentine's day when he was with a woman friend at a beach in Kollam.

On February 24, the couple was accosted by a group of youth questioning their presence. The gang is said to have asked the woman obsecene questions while assaulting Aneesh who came to her rescue. The act was also recorded on video. The couple had to seek police intervention.

Days after this incident, the moral policing victim was found hanging dead from a tree outside his house.

Police say Aneesh had not stepped out or interacted with others much after he returned home after the moral policing incident.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
