Kerala: Technical Glitch In Sky Dinning Restaurant Leaves 5 Tourists Trapped 120 Feet Above Ground

In Kerala's Idukki district, a unique dining experience turned worrisome when five individuals, including four tourists, were left stranded in a sky dining restaurant. This incident occurred on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Anachal near the picturesque Munnar hill station.

As the diners were enjoying the stunning view from 120 feet above ground, a technical glitch in the crane halted their descent. The crane's hydraulics, essential for lowering the platform, ceased to function, leaving the group suspended mid-air.

Rescue Efforts Underway

Emergency responders from the Fire and Rescue Services in Munnar arrived promptly to initiate rescue operations. Idukki District Collector Dineshan Cheruvatt assured the media that efforts were in progress to safely bring down the stranded tourists.

The group trapped included a family of four from Kannur and a staff member of the restaurant. The incident took place around 1:30 pm, disrupting what was intended to be a memorable dining adventure.
