Fairy Tale: How this Kerala shop owner defeated poverty, finally visited US
Thiruvananthapuram, April 28: 65-year-old Vijayan and his wife Mohana might not have imagined that their dream of visiting US would have come true. But miracle happens and it did happened with this Kerala tea shop owner.
It was their dream but lacks of people, who don't even know the couple personally, came forward and supported them to fulfil their dreams. Vijayan and his wife received financial support from across the world and finally travelled to their dream destination -- US.

Following a news report, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher too came forward and helped the couple to accomplish their dreams. Earlier Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan too had tweeted about the couple.
Vijayan, Mohana's journey for last 40 years:
The couple, who has been running a small team shop in Kerala for last 40 years, have visited several places in India and also 16 countries across the globe.
Vijayan and Mohana used to take loans from bank and visited Britain, France, Austria, Egypt, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE and many other foreign countries so far
After visiting each country, the couple would then spend the next two or three years clearing the debts.

Humanity still exists:
It was not an easy task for Vijayan and Mohana to go to their final holiday destination. Their wish to visit US seemed improbable considering their financial status.
Two campaigns, which were held following media reports, helped the couple to gather money. One travel agency too helped the couple. The agency provided them a discounted trip.
After coming back from their US trip, Vijayan was quoted as saying, "We loved New York and Los Angeles. There are so many memories from our trip, but my wife enjoyed at Universal studios the most. We thank everyone who helped us."
