Kerala- Security forces kill 3 maoists in encounter
The security forces are said to have countered maoists about 4 kilometers inside the forest range.
3 maoists were reportedly killed in an encounter with security forces in Nilambur of Kerala on Thursday. Security forces were engaged in a gun battle with maoists suspected to be from Andhra Pradesh.

Operation of the security forces is still underway in Edakkara forest area of Karulai range under Nilambur Sourth division. The security forces are said to have countered maoists about 4 kilometers inside the forest range.
2 of the suspected maoists have been identified as Devaraj and Ajiitha from Andhra Pradesh. Official statement from the forces awaited. Additional forces are currently being deployed.
