Kerala: Private bus operators' strike continues for third consecutive day in Kochi
Private bus operators' strike continued on Sunday for the third consecutive day in Kochi after their proposal to increase bus fares and effect a hike in students' concession was rejected by the state government. The private bus owners co-ordination committee are likely to meet State Transport Minister today.

Bus operators called strike saying hike in bus fare announced on Tuesday isn't sufficient to meet their running cost.
According to bus owners, the hike in bus fare announced by the state government on Tuesday is not sufficient to meet their running cost.
Officer-bearers of the Private Bus Operators' Federation said that the constant increase in fuel price over the past few months led them to take this harsh decision. They felt that government should have increased the student concession component.
