Kerala Police arrest more than 90,000 criminals
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 13: Kerala Police, in a matter of six months, has arrested 91,495 criminals, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said on Thursday.
Chennithala said there was a 30 percent reduction in criminal activities.

He was speaking to reporters here after a meeting with senior police officials.
"Our programme 'Operation Suraksha' began on February 25 and in six months 91,495 people were arrested. Non-bailable warrants were issued against 66,863," Chennithala said.
He said the "Clean Campus Safe Campus" programme of Kerala Police is also doing a good job of creating awareness against drugs in campuses.
"Under this programme, there were 39,700 raids conducted, 10,413 cases registered and 10,103 arrests recorded. But despite all this there has been threefold increase in drug abuse. We are doing everything possible to see that drug abuse is brought down," Chennithala said.
