Kerala pays homage to Kalam by working extra hours
Kerala, July 29: "Don't Declare Holiday On My Death, Instead Work An Extra Day, If You Love Me,"said Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
The workers across several organisations in Kerala stuck to these words of Kalam by putting in extra hours of work on Tuesday.

Employees from all walks of life, from government employees to teachers to techies worked for extra hours on Tuesday, paying homage to the people's president.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam passed away on Monday after he collapsed during a lecture at the IIM in Shillong. There were speculation about the declaration of holiday, but the official statement by the government of India declared a seven-day state mourning in honour of Dr Kalam instead of no holiday.
In Alappuzha district of Kerala, Punnapra North Grama Panchayat employess worked till 7 pm on Tuesday. Kallettumkara railway station ticket reservation counter in Thrissur was kept open for an extra shift.
While the Municipal Corporation office in Palakkad will be open on Sunday, August 2. The Kerala State Women's Development Corporation (KSWDC) will also work on Sunday.
Meanwhile many techies also have taken initiative to put extra hours of work this week. In social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter APJ Abdul Kalam is trending and several posts were published paying homage and respect to the former president of India.
