A resolution was moved by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the Assembly seeking an immediate action against the MLAs for their aggressiveness.

The suspended MLAs include EP Jayarajan, KT Jaleel, V Sivankutty, K Kunjahmed Master and K Ajit. Suspension of the MLAs resulted into loud protest by the Opposition MLAs, who sat-in protest at the Well of the House.

The Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan slammed the resolution of Chief Minister saying that it is 'one-sided one'. He also said that Finance Minister KM Mani should resign from his position.

The MLAs were also booked by the police in connection with the destruction in the house caused during the incident.

The opposition protest demanding resignation of Finance Minister KM Mani on bar bribery issue turned ruckus, when the MLA's attempted to stall budget presentation of the minister.

Kerala Governor P Sathasivam expressed grief and urged for appropriate action against those behind the 'unruly behaviour'.
