Kerala Govt Pledges Full Support to Software Sector Giants: Minister Rajeeve
The Kerala government has announced its readiness to fulfill the needs of major entities in the software development industry, emphasizing the state's rich pool of skilled human resources. This declaration came from Industries Minister P. Rajeeve during a meeting with executives from dSPACE, a Germany-based company, which inaugurated its first global competence center in Asia, located in Kerala, on Wednesday.

dSPACE is renowned for providing essential solutions to leading automotive companies worldwide, aiding in the development of connected, autonomous, and electric vehicles. Minister Rajeeve highlighted Thiruvananthapuram's supportive ecosystem for the space, IT, and ITes sectors, noting that the upcoming Space Park would further benefit dSPACE. He encouraged the company to take advantage of the state's top-tier infrastructure and delve into artificial intelligence for their technologies while also offering employment opportunities to Kerala's talented youth.
The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) Limited shared that the new Competence Centre at Kinfra Park in Kazhakoottam is dSPACE's first facility in Asia, complementing its centers in Germany and Croatia. During his visit to the facility at Kinfra Film and Video Park, Kazhakoottam, Minister Rajeeve interacted with officials and employees, expressing gratitude for the government's support in establishing the center.
Andreas Gau, Managing Director and CEO of dSPACE India Software and Technologies, expressed his appreciation for the government's facilitation efforts. He stated that the competence center would bear full responsibility for the company's products and projects. Franklin George, Managing Director of dSPACE India Software and Technologies, revealed that after considering various cities across India, Thiruvananthapuram was selected for its feasibility to host such a facility. The center aims to work on next-generation technologies by hiring skilled individuals from Kerala.
Elmar Schmitz, Vice President of dSPACE, emphasized the significance of India's vast automotive market for the company's operations. He mentioned dSPACE's intention to recruit more individuals from Kerala to leverage their expertise. Schmitz also acknowledged Kerala's world-class facilities and thriving ecosystem as key factors in choosing the state for their critical operations.
This move by dSPACE to set up its first Asian competence center in Kerala underscores the state's growing appeal as a knowledge-based economy and society. By leveraging its core strengths, including a skilled workforce and advanced infrastructure, Kerala is positioning itself as an attractive destination for global companies looking to innovate and expand their operations.
