Delhi Elections: Kejriwal to give Ice Bucket-type challenge to AAP donors
New Delhi, Dec 2: Ice Bucket Challenge, which once had become a phenomenal among people worldwide, finally touched Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members.
According to sources, AAP has been planning to throw an open challenge to its supporters following what people will be asked to challenge others to donate money for the party.

Ahead of the assembly elections, which are likely to be held in Delhi in Feb 2014, AAP is likely to start 'I Fund Honest Politics Challenge' in which people will be invited to donate money for AAP campaigns.
Close party sources on Tuesday, Dec 2 claimed that the initiative has been devised to help the party garner its targeted donation of Rs 30 crore.

However, the party is yet to decide whether participants would have to perform any activity like Ice Bucket Challenge or not. Meanwhile, AAP national secretary Pankaj Gupta was quoted as saying, "We wanted to do something creative. "The challenge could be to clean your surroundings using a broom, the party's symbol. There may not be any physical challenge at all and people just asked to make donations. We will discuss more ideas and make an announcement about the challenge soon," Mr Gupta added.
What is Ice Bucket Challenge?
Ice Bucket Challenge was introduced to raise funds for ALS patients. Participants were asked to pour one bucket of ice on themselves and later they nominate others to take the same challenge. [Obama Shocker: US diplomats banned from taking Ice Bucket Challenge]
The challenge went viral on social networking site during July-Aug 2014 to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations to research.
Which celebrities did take participate in Ice Bucket Challenge?
Many celebrities including pop star Justin Bieber, former US president George W Bush, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Lady Gaga, Merk Zuckerberg and many others took the challenge.
Many Bollywood actors and other celebrities in India too responded to the challenge. Hritesh Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Sania Mirza and many other were among them.
