New Delhi, Jun 20: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia will be attending the International Yoga Day celebrations at Rajpath tomorrow.

"Kejriwal and Sisodia will attend the International Day Yoga's celebrations tomorrow after both were invited by the Centre," a senior government official said.

The mega event is expected to see participation of more than 35,000 people including government officials, NCC cadets, diplomats and others.

The official also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kejriwal are both expected to be in close proximity of each other while in attendance at the International Yoga Day celebrations.

The participation of the Delhi CM comes at a time when the AAP government and Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, who represents the Centre in the national capital, are engaged in power tussle over administrative control.

"Till yesterday, there was not confirmation whether Kejriwal will attend this event or not. Both Kejriwal and Sisodia later received an invitation and thereafter, the both leaders have agreed to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations," the official said.

The AAP government, however, has not organised any programme on International Yoga Day tomorrow, saying that when one big event is being organised, another one will not be required.

"There is no any scheduled event by the government pertaining to International Yoga Day for tomorrow so far," the official said.

In April this year, Delhi government had also announced 'Vipasana' training for its school teachers aimed at lowering their stress levels and helping them inculcate "values" among students.

The International Yoga Day celebrations are being held at Rajghat in the national capital after the United Nations had in December last year declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, with 177 countries voting in favour.

The proposal had been mooted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first address to the UN General Assembly in September last year.
