Kejriwal Meets Mamata, Uddhav Ahead of Opposition Blocs Meet
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Shiv Sena UBT president Uddhav Thackeray in New Delhi on Monday to discuss political issues. The meeting comes ahead of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

On December 18, 2023, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held separate meetings with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) president Uddhav Thackeray in New Delhi. These meetings come ahead of the opposition INDIA bloc's meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
Kejriwal's Meeting with Mamata Banerjee
Kejriwal met with Mamata Banerjee at the South Avenue residence of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP and Banerjee's nephew, Abhishek Banerjee. The meeting lasted approximately 45 minutes, and Kejriwal refrained from commenting on the specific discussions that took place. Following the meeting, Kejriwal took to social media to share that political issues of national importance were discussed during the courtesy call.
Meeting with Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena UBT Leaders
After meeting with Mamata Banerjee, Kejriwal proceeded to meet with Uddhav Thackeray and other Shiv Sena UBT leaders, including Aditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, and Priyanka Chaturvedi, at his residence. Kejriwal expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host them and shared photos of the meeting on social media.
INDIA Alliance Meeting
The meeting of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, December 19, at the Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi. The alliance's proposed meeting on December 6 was postponed due to the unavailability of several top leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Prime Ministerial Candidate and Seat Sharing
Earlier in the day, Mamata Banerjee stated that the decision regarding the alliance's prime ministerial candidate will be made after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She emphasized that all issues, including seat sharing, will be resolved by the alliance partners with the common goal of defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Kejriwal's Vipassana Meditation Course
Following the INDIA alliance meeting, Kejriwal is scheduled to depart for an undisclosed location to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation course, beginning on Tuesday.
