Kejriwal Chooses Bibhav Kumar Over Swati Maliwal, Claims NCW Chief

It appears that Arvind Kejriwal has 'chosen' his side in the Swati Maliwal assault case," said National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma at a press conference on Friday. She added that the Delhi chief minister has decided to support his personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, whom the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claims assaulted the party's Rajya Sabha member.

Sharma expressed her concern, stating that Kejriwal's actions imply a clear preference towards Kumar, despite the serious allegations made by Maliwal. "I think he (Kejriwal) has chosen his side. He does not want to be with Maliwal. He believes in Bibhav more than her," Sharma said. This stance has raised questions about the Delhi CM's commitment to addressing the issue impartially.

The case has attracted considerable attention since the AAP claimed that Maliwal was assaulted by Kumar. The NCW has since been actively involved, requesting an Action Taken Report (ATR) from the police, and FIR charges have been framed against Kumar. Despite being summoned by the NCW, Kumar has not responded, while Maliwal has undergone a medical examination to document her injuries.

Delhi Police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Bibhav Kumar, based on Maliwal's statement. She accused Kumar of "outraging her modesty, slapping, kicking, and threatening" her. This incident reportedly occurred at the CM's official residence in Civil Lines, Delhi. Maliwal described the past few days as "very difficult" for her, highlighting the personal and professional turmoil she has faced.
