Kejriwal, Atishi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Congratulate Rekha Gupta, BJP's Pick For New Chief Minister Of Delhi

Soon after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislative meeting, senior leaders and observers Ravi Shankar Prasad and OP Dhankar announced Rekha Gupta's name to be the Next Chief Minister of Delhi, former chief minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal extended all the luck to Rekha Gupta.

Arvind Kejriwal, in a post on X, in Hindi, said, "Many congratulations to Rekha Gupta ji on becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi. I hope that she will fulfill all the promises made to the people of Delhi. We will support her in every work for the development and welfare of the people of Delhi."

Incumbent CM Atishi also congratulated Rekha Gupta. She said, "I congratulate Rekha Gupta for becoming the CM...I hope that the BJP will fulfil all the promises that they have made to the people of Delhi...I would like to say from the AAP front that our party is always ready to extend our support to the BJP for the development work here...She will be the fourth CM of Delhi, and it is a very good thing that women are showing up in politics with great enthusiasm..."

Rekha Gupta, who started her political journey as ABVP worker, then became a Municipal councillor, Mayor, and now, first-time MLA has been picked to lead Delhi. She will be the 4th Chief Minister of Delhi following Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi.

Senior BJP leaders and Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh also wished luck to Rekha Gupta to serve her best as next Delhi Chief Minister.

"Many congratulations and best wishes to Smt. @gupta_rekha ji on being elected as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party in Delhi. I firmly believe that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and with his efforts, Delhi will become the developed capital of developed India," Rajnath Singh said.

Home Minister Amit Shah's post on X reads: "I extend my hearty congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. @gupta_rekha ji on being elected the leader of the BJP Legislative Party."

"I have full faith that you will work with dedication in the direction of the resolution taken by Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji to make Delhi one of the top capitals of the world. I am confident that the BJP government under your leadership will work day and night to fulfill the hopes and expectations with which the mothers and sisters of Delhi have blessed the BJP."
