Kejriwal Criticises BJP for Allegedly Facilitating Drug Trade in Delhi Through Mundra Port

During a recent assembly session, Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP convenor, criticised the BJP. He accused them of facilitating drug trafficking into Delhi via Gujarat's Mundra port. Kejriwal claimed that drugs entering through this port, managed by industrialist Gautam Adani, were reaching states like Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana. "Can this happen without the involvement of the top political powers of the country?" he questioned, directly implicating the BJP.

Kejriwal Blames BJP for Drug Trade in Delhi

Kejriwal expressed concern over the rising availability of drugs in Delhi. He recounted a visit to Kalkaji, where he conducted a padyatra. "People were afraid to speak openly," he said. "They whispered in my ears about drugs being sold in every shop." Kejriwal warned that this situation threatens the future of children and could ruin an entire generation.

Drug Concerns and Political Tensions

The AAP leader urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take decisive action against drug abuse. "Otherwise, he will not be able to shut the mouths of the public when they say that drug addicts are getting government protection," Kejriwal stated. He also pledged to keep questioning authorities on issues affecting Delhi's residents.

Kejriwal emphasised his commitment to addressing law and order concerns in the national capital. "I will keep asking questions on the law and order situation," he asserted. He mentioned that people are inviting him to different areas to expose drug-related issues prevalent in Delhi.

Upcoming Elections and Political Strategies

The seventh Delhi Legislative Assembly concluded its five-year term with its 74th and final sitting. The upcoming elections are scheduled for February 2025. As Delhi gears up for these elections, tensions between AAP and BJP are escalating. AAP aims for a third consecutive term after their 2020 victory.

Meanwhile, the BJP is striving to end its 25-year absence from power in Delhi. Law and order have become a central campaign issue for AAP as they prepare for the upcoming elections. The political landscape in Delhi is heating up as both parties strategise for electoral success.

The ongoing political battle highlights significant concerns about drug trafficking and governance in Delhi. As both parties prepare for elections, these issues remain at the forefront of public discourse, shaping voter perceptions and campaign strategies.
