J P Nadda Labels Arvind Kejriwal as Biggest Liar Over AAP's Corruption in Delhi Government
BJP president J P Nadda criticised AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, labelling him as the "biggest liar" during a public meeting in Uttam Nagar. Nadda accused the Delhi government of corruption and unfulfilled promises over its decade-long rule. He stated, "If a competition of lying is organised at the national level, Kejriwal would come first," as he campaigned for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Nadda highlighted several alleged scams involving the AAP government, including a Rs 100 crore Waqf Board scam. He claimed that the AAP government failed to deliver clean water to Delhi residents and was involved in a Rs 2,800 crore liquor scam. The BJP leader also mentioned corruption in the Delhi Jal Board, leaving citizens reliant on tanker mafias.
Allegations of Corruption and Mismanagement
The BJP president accused the AAP of committing a Rs 300 crore medicine scam in their mohalla clinics. He further alleged a Rs 4,500 crore scam in bus purchases and another Rs 571 crore scam related to CCTV installations. Nadda criticised the AAP's promise to clean the Yamuna river, claiming it resulted in a scam worth between Rs 7,000 and Rs 8,000 crore.
Nadda also blamed the AAP for poor infrastructure maintenance, including broken roads and garbage accumulation. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's central government for providing 300 new electric buses to Delhi and promised more by December 2025. Nadda stated that whatever progress Delhi has seen is due to Modi's leadership.
Promises for Future Governance
If elected, Nadda assured voters that the BJP would fulfil its promises, such as a monthly honorarium of Rs 2,500 for women under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. He also promised free education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels and cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500. Nadda guaranteed that existing public welfare schemes would continue under BJP governance.
Addressing another gathering in Shakur Basti, Nadda accused AAP leaders of betraying their anti-corruption stance. He noted that several AAP members, including ministers and MLAs, faced jail time due to corruption charges. He urged voters to consider these issues when casting their votes on February 5.
Upcoming Elections and Political Landscape
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, with vote counting on February 8. The AAP aims for a third consecutive term after securing significant victories in previous elections. In contrast, the BJP seeks to improve its past performance of three seats in 2015 and eight in 2020.
Nadda emphasised that these elections are crucial for Delhi's future and encouraged voters to support the BJP. He dismissed AAP's claims against BJP policies as falsehoods and reiterated his party's commitment to development and welfare initiatives.
