Temple Committee Member Vineet Posti explained that the step was taken to preserve the sanctity of Kedarnath Temple. With a large number of devotees visiting during the pilgrimage season, managing crowds and maintaining decorum has become a major concern.

He added that the presence of mobile phones often leads to overcrowding, delays, and disturbance during darshan. By banning phones, authorities hope to create a more peaceful and organised atmosphere for worship.
