KCR Wanted To Join NDA, But I Rejected His Proposal: PM Modi In Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted to join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance but he turned down his proposal.

"When BJP won 48 seats in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, KCR needed support. Before this election, he used to welcome me at the airport, but later suddenly he stopped doing so. After the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, KCR came to meet me in Delhi and said that he wanted to join NDA. He also asked me to extend support to him. I told him (KCR) that due to his deeds Modi cannot be associated with him," ANI quoted the PM in a tweet.

For the sixth time in a row since February 2022, the Telangana CM refused to welcome the PM at the airport and sent a minister from his cabinet.

The Prime Minister attacked the BRS leader during an event in Nizamabad in Telangana. "My sisters from Telangana have been part of a big revolution, created history. A few days ago the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam was passed in Parliament. Congress and its INDI alliance - this 'ghamandiya' alliance- had stalled this bill for the last 30 years. Due to the collective power of women, this alliance has to support the passing of this bill," he stated.

K Chandrashekhar Rao has been critical about the Prime Minister and the BJP in the last one year. Notably, the BRS has not joined either the NDA or the Opposition bloc INDIA alliance even as the Congress accuse it to be the B-team of the BJP.

The Prime Minister then said, "You must remember the rule of Nizam...The country had attained independence but Hyderabad and all these areas were yet to gain independence. Nizam had created hurdles. A Gujarati son - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel showed strength and cemented your independence. Today, the other Gujarati son has come for your development, your welfare."
