Kashmiri Doctor’s Arrest Leads to 350 kg Explosives & 2 AK‑47 Seizure in Faridabad

Authorities have uncovered a major terror-linked cache in Faridabad, Haryana, following the arrest of a Kashmiri doctor in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.

The seizure included 350 kilograms of explosives and two AK-47 rifles, raising alarms over a possible cross-state terror network under active investigation.

Arrest in Uttar Pradesh Triggers Nationwide Probe

The operation began after Dr. Adeel, a faculty member at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, was detained for allegedly putting up posters supporting Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. Police recovered an AK-47 rifle from his locker, prompting a broader investigation that soon led to the arrest of another doctor.

According to officials, both suspects, hailing from Qazigund and Pulwama, were apprehended after the first weapon discovery in Anantnag. The subsequent leads guided the Jammu and Kashmir Police to Faridabad, where the massive explosives haul was made with the help of Haryana Police.

350 kg of Explosives and AK-47s Found

The discovery of 350 kilograms of RDX and two assault rifles marks one of the largest seizures in recent months linked to potential terror activity. A senior officer confirmed the details, saying, "All legal protocols are being followed, and further investigations are underway to trace the origin of the weapons and explosives."

He added that the materials are now in police custody. "The AK-47s and RDX have been seized and are in police custody. More details will be shared once the inquiry progresses," the officer said.

Investigators Examine Wider Terror Links

Security agencies suspect a broader nexus involving terror financing and illegal arms trafficking. Officials are now probing how the weapons and explosives reached the hospital premises and whether additional individuals are part of the network.

Staff members from GMC Anantnag are also being questioned as part of the inquiry. The investigation, led by Srinagar Police, has now expanded beyond Jammu and Kashmir to include possible connections in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Case Registered Under UAPA and Arms Act

Police have filed a case under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 28, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Authorities emphasized that the operation remains ongoing and that more arrests could follow based on interrogation results.

The arrests have underscored growing concerns about radical networks attempting to infiltrate institutions, with law enforcement stepping up efforts to dismantle such operations across state lines.
