Karunanidhi's elder sister passes away

Chennai, May 20: DMK chief M Karunanidhi's elder sister Shanmugasundarathammal died here today. She was 98.

Shanmugasundarathammal was not keeping well for some time and breathed her last this morning at her house here, party sources said.

Karunanidhi paid homage to his sister. Shanmugasundarathammal was the mother of late union minister 'Murasoli' Maran.

She is survived by another son 'Murasoli' Selvam.
