Chennai, March 8: DMK president M.Karunanidhi on Tuesday exuded confidence that the DMDK led by actor-turned-politician A. Vijaykant would align with his party to fight the May 16 assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters after interviewing the potential candidates to fight the polls, Karunanidhi said he is confident that DMDK would join the DMK alliance.

Karunanidhi said the alliance talks with DMDK are not dragging.
He added that the party will announce its election manifesto in a couple of days.
Karunanidhi said a total of 4,433 candidates were interviewed for 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and 30 in neighbouring Puducherry.
The DMK and the Congress, having buried their differences over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, have aligned together to fight the assembly polls.
