Kartik Purnima tragedy in Bihar: 3 dead, 10 injured in stampede, CM announces ex-gratia

At least three people were killed and 10 others injured in a stampede during Kartik Purnima celebrations on Saturday at Simaria ghat in Begusarai district of Bihar.

While devotees were performing Kartik Purnima puja on the ghat, panic gripped the crowd for unknown reasons.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announced ex-gratia of Rs. 4 lakh each to those who lost their lives in the stampede.

According to the information, the injured have been admitted to the nearby hospital.

Police chief Rajaratna has confirmed the death of three people to ANI.
