Karnataka: KJ George, cops to be grilled in DySp suicide case
Bengaluru, July 19: A local court directed Madikeri Town police to register the FIR in the suicide case of DySP Ganapati. Following this, CID officials have stopped their investigation.
It is now over to the local police who have to register the FIR and start a fresh probe.

The police can lodge an FIR till Aug 5, as the court has directed them to submit the action taken report by this date. The FIR has to be registered at the Madikeri station first after which the government has two options-allow the police to investigate or issue a fresh order directing the CID to continue the probe.
The case may also be referred to the CBI.
Ganapathi had named K J George in his suicide note.
After lodging the FIR, the three accused-former minister K J George, ADGP A.M. Prasad and IGP Pronab Mohanty have to be interrogated by the police. There is no rule that they have to be arrested.
