Karnataka Floor Test: Siddaramaiah targets PM Modi over BJP bribing Congress MLA(S)
Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Bharatiya Janata Party bribing Congress MLA(S).
Taking to Twitter, Siddaramaiah said," PM @narendramodi never tires of lecturing the nation on corruption. Does he have the moral courage to advice BJP Karnataka & BS Yeddyurappa to stop these attempts to bribe MLAs, and allow the formation of a stable coalition Government in the interest of Karnataka?".
The Congress released an audio tape where chief minister BS Yeddyurappa is purportedly heard trying to lure an MLA with the promise of a ministerial berth if he backed the BJP government during the trust vote.
The BJP, however, rejected the charge, calling the tape the job of "mimicry artistes" and the "dirty tricks department" of the Congress.
In the tape, released hours ahead of the crucial floor test, Yeddyurappa is allegedly heard speaking to Congress MLA from Hirekerur BC Patil over phone.
