Karnataka elections: How to beat Bengaluru's heat? Enjoy ice cream like Rahul Gandhi
On Wednesday evening, Rahul Gandhi enjoyed ice cream in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru, May 10: Karnataka is witnessing quite a heated election contest. And to add to the woes of residents, the sultry weather is definitely not helping the tired souls.
So how do you beat the heat? Bengaluru got a "new cool lesson" from Congress president Rahul Gandhi who was in the IT hub on Wednesday to campaign for his party for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections on Saturday (May 12).

In the evening, Rahul headed to an ice cream parlour in the city and was seen enjoying ice cream with a group of his supporters. After gorging on the delicacies, the Congress president made it a point to tweet about his ice cream sojourn and heaped praises on the outlet and its workers.
Impressed by the ice cream and the parlour's friendly people, Rahul is planning to revisit the place soon. We can't blame Rahul for his candid confession, after all we all have a soft corner for ice cream, in spite of the fact they are high on calories.
"This ice cream parlour in Bengaluru was a great place to end a long day on the campaign trail! The ice cream here is amazing and the staff friendly and helpful. I enjoyed meeting the owner and some of his customers. Look forward to being back soon!" tweeted Rahul.
Earlier, Rahul also paid tributes to Kannada cinema icon Rajkumar at the late actor's memorial in Bengaluru. A few days ago, Rajkumar's son Puneeth Rajkumar and his wife met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the city and gifted him a portrait of the cinema icon.
Rajkumar is a hugely popular figure in Karnataka and his family enjoys good amount of support among the people. So, if anyone from the Rajkumar family is seen endorsing a candidate or a party, voters will definitely not miss the point.
Apart from enjoying ice cream and paying tributes to the icon of Karnataka, Rahul attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and PM Modi during his rally in the city. On his part, PM Modi also attacked Rahul who on Tuesday said that he was ready to be the PM of the country provided the Congress emerges winner in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The results of the state Assembly elections will be declared on May 15. Till then, let parties and leaders continue to trade barbs over various issues. A total of 224 seats are up for grabs in the upcoming elections, dubbed as a curtain raiser for the big 2019 General elections.
