Karnataka to vote on May 10; Result on May 13
The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Karnataka Assembly elections 2023 on Wednesday.The State will go to polls on May 10, and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 13, 2023.

The term of the 224-member Karnataka Assembly ends on May 24.

Single-phase Karnataka Elections: Voting on May 10, Result on May 13

Date for nominations: April 13, Last date for filing nominations: April 20, Date for scrutiny of nominations: April 21, Last date for withdrawal of candidatures: April 24, Date of poll: May 10 and Single Phase Date of counting on May 13.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said Urban Apathy is a cause of concern. These 4 districts in India’s IT Hub had the lowest voter turnout in 2013 & 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections, much less than the state average. 88% of PS in these 4 districts are in urban areas.
Assured Minimum Facilities to be available in all Polling Stations. The Commission is conscious of providing all basic facilities to voters for an enriching and pleasant voting experience. Emphasis is on making AMF a permanent infrastructure in polling stations: CEC Rajiv Kumar
CEC Rajiv Kumar said there are 9.17 lakh voters are first-timers while 4,699 belong to the third gender. First-time voters have increased from 2018-19 by 9.17 lakhs in Karnataka. All young voters who are turning 18 years of age by April 1, will be able to vote in elections.
Congress legislature party leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reiterated his wish to contest from two seats in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls. However, Siddaramaiah has reportedly been advised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to contest elections from Varuna constituency instead of Kolar.
