Karnataka Crime: Teacher Arrested For Raping 5th Class Student In Yadrami

There was a time, when schools were equally respected as temples and teachers were treated like gods, who always showed us the right path for a bright future. Teachers also played a guardians role for students, but today, schools are also not safe. In a recent incident, a private school teacher was arrested in Karnataka's Yadrami town for allegedly raping a minor student.

According to the reports, the incident took place today, December 4, and soon the minor girl reported it her parents, after which, the victim lodged a case. Reacting swiftly to the information, Police apprehended the accused teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually assaulting class 5 student.

Details in the matter are still awaited and probe is underway.

Meanwhile, in another similar case, a court in Balasore district sentenced 20 years of rigorous imprisonment to a man for abducting and raping a minor girl in 2022.

special public prosecutor Pranab Kumar Panda said told the medi that Special POCSO judge Ranjan Kumar Sutar heard more than 22 witnesses and examined 40 exhibits before convicting the 26-year-old accused. A fine of Rs 6,000 was also slapped on him.

If convict doesn't submit the fine, he has to undergo extra two-years of jail term.

In 2022, the family members of the victims had lodged the FIR after they failed to trace the girl.
