Reaching out: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to join Facebook, Twitter

Siddaramaiah's Facebook and Twitter accounts to be officially launched in Bangalore on Monday. A website of the CM would also be launched at a function in Vidhana Soudha on Monday.
In the last Lok Sabha polls, social media campaigns worked well for BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. This could have inspired Siddaramaiah to join the internet community. A number of young politicians in the state are active in social media.
Siddaramaiah's facebook account - facebook.com/cmofkarnataka and his twitter handle @cmofkarnataka will be managed by a team of officers in close coordination with the chief minister, a Deccan Herald report said. The CM's website - www.cmkarnataka.gov.in - will provide information on his programmes, updates on the events he attends, details of his political career and links to various departments of the government etc.
Siddaramaiah will tweet on a regular basis and post messages on Facebook on issues concerning the State, said the report.
Gradually, the CM's website will be developed into a platform wherein the public can post their grievances as comments or mails.
