How Karnataka bandh on Sept 26 likely to affect Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sept 24: People in the IT City may face trouble on Saturday, Sept 26 as a state-wide bandh might be observed in Karnataka from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Now, it has been claimed that Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) offices will be closed on Saturday as BBMP workers association extended full support to the bandh.

According to reports, BBMP workers have been asked to apply for casual leave to support the bandh. Meanwhile, All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) and Karnataka State Light Medium Goods Truck Owners' Association declared that they would support the bandh.

BMTC and KSRTC officials told that they would take their final call on supporting the bandh on Friday, Sept 25. However, it has been reported buses from Bengaluru to Goa will be cancelled on Saturday.

Many schools too informed that they may declare a holiday on Saturday just to avoid any trouble. All banks in the city will be closed as it would be the fourth Saturday of the month.

Number of autos will be less on Saturday as many auto unions are linked to political parties which have already extended their support to the bandh.

However, Metro, can facilities will be available in the city. Essential services such as milk, water supply and hospitals too will be available on Saturday.
