Karnataka assasination plot: Lashkar operative deported from Saudi Arabia
Bengaluru, Dec 9: The National Investigating Agency has secured the custody of one Abu Sufiyan an alleged operative of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba-e-Tayiba in connection with a plot to kill prominent personalities including journalists in Karnataka.
Sufiyan who also goes by the alias Assadullah Khan was deported from Saudi Arabia to Mumbai following which he was brought down to Bengaluru.

Following his production before the NIA court his custody was handed over to the NIA. Sufiyan is a resident of Lancer Road Hyderabad and was wanted for his role in a criminal conspiracy to kill prominent persons including journalists in Hubbali and Bengaluru.
It may be recalled that over two years back the Bengaluru police had busted a case which involved a conspiracy to kill prominent persons in Karnataka.
The case was handed over to the NIA later as the conspiracy was an inter state one. The NIA found links of this conspiracy in Hyderabad, Karnataka and Maharashtra as well.
