kk
Kargil, July 26: The Indian army lost more than 500 soldiers during the 1999 Kargil war and many were injured.

On the occasion of 15th Kargil Vijay Diwas, OneIndia met Dr Anil at the war museum, who had treated the injured soldiers.

'Treated 23 jawans in a day'

Dr Anil still remembers that how he had put up a camp at the hill and took all the medical equipments there.

"There used to be a lot of bleeding in the injured soldiers and me and my team priority was to stop bleeding. After extracting the bullet out of their bodies, our focus was to stop the oozing blood", he said.

"Seriously injured soldiers were taken down from the hills in choppers. One day, 23 soldiers, who were seriously injured were treated", he said while remembering the old memories.

'Got inspired by the bravery of soldiers'

Everyday, during the war, there used to be many casualties.

"Seriously injured soldiers used to tell me that Sir, please treat me soon so that I can fight enemies as soon as possible. Even in serious conditions, they requested me not to send them down for further treatment. Their bravery and determination gave me lot of strength", he said.

"Our Indian army and our soldiers are the best in the world. It is very hard to see such kind of braveness in any other army", he signed off.
