Kanpur: Sex racket busted; five men, 9 girls arrested
Kanpur, Jul 6: Police today claimed to have busted a sex racket with the arrest of nine girls and five men from a rented house at Kalyanpur area here this morning.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house taken on rent by one Shailendra Gupta alias Deepak near Eco Park where the men and girls were found in objectionable state, SP (Rural) Surendra Tiwari said.

Upon questioning, it came to light that girls from various states were brought to the house and forced into flesh trade, he said.
The name plate in the house bore the colour of Samajwadi Party's flag - red and green - and name of Shailendra with designation as General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Sangathan, was written on it, police said.
Four other persons arrested along with Shailendra are Sahil, Siddharth Sharma, Muni Shrivastava and Raju, the SP said, adding, the arrested girls belonged to West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Investigation is underway and more persons are likely to be arrested, he said.
